We've been
having some extremely unstable weather this summer here in İzmir, with high
winds blowing day in day out... I've had little opportunity to be out on the
open sea; have been spending very little time in fact on my boat, unhappily
as she keeps swaying where she lies at anchor... In short, I've been
homebound most of the time...
But this has
proved an excellent opportunity to get some work done; and I've been working
really hard on a "test-yourself-book" comprising intermediate to advanced
vocabulary tests. I have planned it as a companion volume to my "Practical
English For Turks"...
I suppose some
of you are already back from your holidays and trying unhappily to get back
to your routine affairs. I thought I might present a small number of
questions from the book, for you to while away the day as you brace yourself

Örneğin burada, "bugüne değin yaşamış en büyük dramatist" demiş
oluyoruz...

= Böyle bir girişimden beklenen ödüller açık bir şekilde risklerden daha
ağır basıyor...
