Here is a sample KPDS question, checking for vocabulary skills:

Basic Sample Sentences: Try to guess the general meaning of the involved word from these sentences. Sözcüklerin yalnızca anlamını çıkarsamaya çalışmakla yetinmeyiniz. Aynı kökten başka türevler (isim, sıfat, zarf, fiil) var mıdır; nesne alıyor mu; ilgeç alıyorsa hangi ilgeci alıyor... gibi özelliklerini de (sözlük ve internet'ten örnek avlayarak) saptayınız ve not ediniz. NOTLAR:

 002  "Pine forests ............... the land on both sides" şeklinde verilirse, "covered" sözcüğü doğru cevap olur.

 008  "across the sky... over the sky" durumlarında "spread" sözcüğü de doğru olur. Öte yandan, çok çok iyi bir şairseniz, "clouds cruising the sky" şeklinde bir imgeyi yutturabilirsiniz.

 009  "spread over an area..." doğru olurdu.
