05 -- There was an airplane crash and every single person died; but five passengers survived. How is this possible? Uçaktaki "every single" = "herbir" kişi öldü, ama beşi hayatta kaldı. Bu nasıl olabilir?

01 -- You arrive second! If you have overtaken the second person and taken his place, you arrive second!

02 -- Because he isn't dead if he's LIVING.

03 -- The two men were NOT PLAYING EACH OTHER! They were playing different opponents. ["play with" mümkün fakat daha az yaygındır. Korkarım bunu "hissetmek" zorundasınız; bu farkı sözcüklere döküp izah etmekten acizim.]

04 -- The question is irrelevant. [=Kelalaka bir soru]. You must be dead if your wife is a widow.

05 -- These five passengers were married people. ["Single" aynı zamanda bekar demektir: "every single person" aynı zamanda "herbir bekar kimse" demektir. Oysa, evli yolcular hayatta kaldılar!]

Ben size evliliğin çok faydalı birşey olduğunu hep söylemiyor muyum?!

05 -- What can go up a chimney down but can't go down a chimney up? [Buradaki yapıyı çözemiyorsanız, şu örnekleri düşününüz: "to go out on the street naked" = çıplak sokağa çıkmak... "to get in the bed naked" = yatağa çıplak girmek... "to get on a bus drunk" sarhoş sarhoş otobüse binmek"... Yani, "chimney" sözcüğünden sonra gelen "down" ve "up" sözcüğünü birer sıfat olarak değerlendiriniz.]

01 -- The nail would be the same height. Remember? Trees grow from the top.

02 -- Peacocks do not lay eggs; it's the peahens that lay eggs. cock/hen = horoz/tavuk... peacock/peahen = erkek tavus kuşu / dişi tavus kuşu...

03 -- She is their mother!

04 -- They burst the tyres. [= Lastikleri patlattılar!]

05 -- An umbrella. [Şemsiye için, "to be down" = kapalı olmak... "to be up" = açık olmak...]

QUESTIONS!!

01 -- There is one word in the English language which is wrong if it is pronounced correctly. But if it is pronounced wrong, that becomes the correct pronunciation. Which common English word is it?

01 -- The word "wrong"!!

02 -- **"Forth". The correct spelling is "fourth". All the other words in the sequence are spelled correctly.  sequence /Sİ:-kuıns/ = dizi, ardışıklık...

03 -- Kaya's father was bald.

04 -- There is no such thing as a "mummy bull" -- she is a cow.

05 -- A chair, a bed, and a tooth

"Brain teaser" ne demektir? "Beyin tacizcisi bulmaca" diyelim mi?... Peki, "Strip tease" ne demektir? = "Soyunarak kışkırtmak... (Ve bu şekilde "taciz" ederken dalgasını da geçmek)... Çünkü, striptizcinin amacı -- hertürlü "coquette" (cilveli, koket) davranışta olduğu gibi -- "titillation without gratification" dır. Yani, İngilizce'de "coquette" sözcüğünün anlamı bizdekinden farklıdır... Peki, "titillation without gratification" ne demektir? Onu da bir sözlüğe danışınıveriniz artık...
